Use the player at the topVicente Milioto Da Palma is Vhyce. He comes from Belgium, and we like his records.
He’s already been producing for two years and he’s just 21. Like us, he’s a fan of the cowbell and heavy bass. Like us and labelmates Yolanda Be Cool, he believes in Villalobos For Presidente.
His first EP Voivodine came out in June on Australian label Sweat It Out! and the whole package was outstanding: the originals Voivodine and Basement Horns were full of afrobeat vocals and clicky staccato beats and were played in every mix and DJ set that we were hearing during the summer, and remixes were provided by Yolanda Be Cool, Femme en Fourrure and Rainbows of Death.
He’s also got a string of remixes under his belt, Hector & Nate‘s Balladang on MSMD (Monkey See Monkey Do), Tim Corin feat. Daniel Farley with Kippah on Bakehaus Records, and most recently the excellent remix of Lee Mortimer‘s Do It on Midnight Munchies on 18 October. Soon to follow are the second collaboration with Yolanda Be Cool on Villalobos for Presidente on Blanco y Negro and Ultra, and a remix for Swick‘s first EP on Malente‘s label No Brainer. What these remixes all share is an irreverent gypsy-house style, plenty of cowbell and an uptempo bassline: perfect dancefloor components.
